法援署是維護和鞏固香港社會的法治精神的機構之一，竭力確保在法律面前人人平等。即使當事人是缺乏經濟能力，也能到法援署尋求正義伸張。通常執業3年的律師，即有資格為申請法援的人打官司。劇中，莊曉慧（蘇玉華飾）、蔣思庭（唐寧飾）和余樂施（湯盈盈飾）就是在法援署工作。

所有加入法援署工作的律師（solo）或大狀（bar），均會被署方聘請為律師（solo），及安排到審查料或訴訟科工作。審查料負責審查受助人的申請，訴訟科負責刑事和民事的訴訟工作。劇中，唐寧就是飾演法援署訴訟科律師蔣思庭。
當申請被法援署接納，律政書記首先會接見求助人，收集有關資料及案情。他們還要為律師準備所有上庭文件，及陪律師上庭。劇中，蘇玉華就是飾演法援署律政書記莊曉慧。

haha i know that no one is watching this show..but this show is so nice...!!
the story is about this new doctor lee en cheng( my favourite..) who was looked down by some doctors because he is from the rural medical sch and not kwang hee uni hospital. He then worked in thoracic dept as intern along with the top medical student, nam hui shi. At first nam huishi is a very proud person and has not much feelings for her patients however, after working with en cheng and their mentor, chui jiang guo,,she gradually changed and understood the meaning of becoming a doctor. Dr chui jiang guo, he is the top surgeon in the hospital but was always made into dificult position because he truly cares about the patients whereas those doctors in that hospital was vying for power , hoping to rise to higher positions etc. Also, the director placed managment procedure in higher priority than the patients themselves..despite the odds..many doctos in thoracic dept stand by dr chui jiang guo..Apart from the medical scenes..what i enjoyed was that all the doctors are just like us they complain about working non stop..fell in love with other doctors..have dinner together etc..also have to deal with their relationship problems at work! and lee en cheng is so funny..at first, nam huishi cannot stnad him..but grdaully she falls for him..he is so likable lol there's scene when huishi was angry about encheng and she refused to talk to him..then he mimic those pop singer and sings for nam hui shi..oh ya he is forever singing for her..and she is very touched by his voice..hahaha..and he likes to sew teddy bear..when chui jiang guo doc left..he sewed a teddybear for him...so cute lo..http://imbc.com/broad/tv/drama/newheart/
